A first EGRET-related agenda for the next-generation Cherenkov telescopes on the northern hemisphere

The next generation of Cherenkov telescopes will open the regime below 100 GeV to ground-based gamma observations with unprecedented point source sensitivity. One of the first steps for these new instruments will be the observation of sources from the EGRET catalogue. Under the constraints imposed by the observing technique and taking into account the spectral data available from the 3rd EGRET catalogue, a candidate list for gamma observations from the northern hemisphere is derived. Depending on the instrument under consideration, this list comprises up to 20 identified, 23 unidentified and 9 tentatively identified EGRET sources.
