We report the results of VLT observations at 2.2 micron with the ISAAC instrument of the galactic microquasars GRS 1915+105 and 1E 1740.7-2942. For GRS1915+105, we report the detection of a new Na I emission line and discuss the different scenarios consistent with the observed spectrum. For 1E 1740.7-2942, we present a deep VLT search for its infrared counterpart at the subarcsec accurate position determined by both the Very Large Array and the Chandra satellite at radio and X-ray wavelengths, respectively.
