Papers by Andres Rojas, from the Modern Communications DSP group, accepted at ISCAS 2025 conference
IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS 2025) is the flagship conference of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS) and is a global forum for researchers in the areas of circuit and systems theory, design, and implementation. This year the conference will be held in London, UK from May 25-28.
Andres Rojas, a student from Electronics, Modern Communications DSP group, has two accepted papers, which are described below.
The paper “Spectrogram-Based Spectrum Prediction for AI-Managed Cognitive-Radio Edge Devices” presents a proof of concept regarding a spectrum occupancy prediction system. The proposal was implemented in SIMULINK by applying RF signals captured by a software-defined radio (SDR).
The paper “Live Demonstration: RF Frame Detection Using YOLOv8 for Spectrum Sensing” presents a demonstration of a deep learning RF signal detection system.
Both papers that were accepted at ISCAS 2025 were developed by Andrés Rojas as part of his PhD thesis under the supervision of advisors Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek (INAOE), José de la Rosa (IMSE) and Gustavo Liñán (IMSE).
Andrés Rojas obtained his degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Cuenca, Ecuador; and his Master of Science degree in Electronics from INAOE. He is currently a PhD student in Electronics at INAOE and has been doing a stay at IMSE in Spain since October 2023. He has a total of 12 articles published in international conferences and journals, not counting these two ISCAS articles.
