INAOE-IFUNAM working meeting

With the aim of strengthening academic ties, on January 22, the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), a center of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (Secihti), received a visit of the Institute of Physics of the UNAM (IFUNAM).

The visitors from IFUNAM were received by Dr. Julián David Sánchez de la Llave, Interim General Director of INAOE, and Dr. Claudia Feregrino Uribe, who is in charge of the affairs of the Research and of the Technological Development Directorates. On behalf of IFUNAM, Dr. Mercedes Rodríguez Villafuerte, General Director, as well as the researchers, Dr. Rubén Alfaro Molina and Dr. Arturo Rodríguez Gómez, attended the meeting.

Also attending from INAOE were Dr. Daniel Durini Romero, researcher of the Electronics Department; Dr. José Miguel Rocha Pérez, technologist at the Technological Integration Center and responsible for the Integrated Circuit Systems (SiCI) area; Dr. Alejandro Bautista Castillo, technologist associated with SiCI; Dr. Miguel Velázquez de la Rosa, researcher at the Astrophysics Department, and Dr. Bertha Patricia Guzmán Velázquez, in charge of the Institutional Liaison and Planning Office.

The meeting agenda included an institutional presentation by Dr. David Sánchez de la Llave, Interim General Director of INAOE, and a presentation by the UNAM Physics Institute General Director, Dr. Mercedes Rodríguez Villafuerte.

The goals of the meeting were to improve the academic ties between both institutions, and to explore perspectives for future collaboration.

To conclude the agenda, the special guests and the hosts visit were made the Microscopy, Millimeter Wave Astronomical Instrumentation, and Integrated Circuits Characterization laboratories.
