The Polytechnic University of Tulancingo visited INAOE
In order to explore possibilities for collaboration, on June 11, authorities from the Polytechnic University of Tulancingo (UPT) visited the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics, a public research center of Conahcyt.
The delegation, headed by Mtro. Felipe Olimpo Durán Rocha, rector of UTP, was received by Dr. Julián David Sánchez de la Llave, interim director of INAOE.
A work meeting was held to formalize some actions that are already being developed within the framework of a collaboration agreement that both institutions have already signed, especially in the Laboratory of Astronomical Instrumentation of Millimeter Waves, where a postdoctoral student works with Dr. Daniel Ferrusca, researcher of the Astrophysics Coordination and head of the laboratory.
Likewise, several articles have been generated in collaboration with some researchers from INAOE and eight graduates of different master's and doctoral programs from INAOE work at the Polytechnic University of Tulancingo.
In addition to Dr. David Sánchez de la Llave, Dr. Claudia Feregrino Uribe, head of the Research Department, and Dr. Francisco Renero Carrillo, head of the Academic Training Department, attended the meeting.
On behalf of the Polytechnic University of Tulancingo Dr. José Humberto Arroyo Núñez, Academic Secretary, Lic. Daniela Macedo Vega, Director of Outreach and Extension, and Dr. Alfonso Padilla Vivanco, Director of Research and Graduate Studies, attended the meeting.
The visitors visited the Robotics Laboratory, the historic Schmidt Camera of Tonantzintla and the solar telescope.
