INAOE-Secretariat of Infrastructure working meeting

Today public officials from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) and the Infrastructure Secretariat of the Government of the State of Puebla held a working meeting.


The purpose of the meeting was to manage activities for the maintenance of the access road to the HAWC and the Alfonso Serrano Large Millimeter Telescope (GTM) observatories. Both observatories are located on the Sierra Negra Volcano in the state of Puebla: HAWC on the slopes and the GTM on the top of it. The area is part of the Pico de Orizaba National Park.
At the meeting were Mr. Luis Roberto Tenorio, Secretary of Infrastructure; Dr. David Hughes, director of the GTM; Dr. José Luis Hernández Rebollar, in charge of the technical management of the GTM; Dr. Ibrahim Torres, site head of the HAWC Observatory, and M. C. Janina Nava Ariza, from the OVPI.
