Call for the XXII Youth Science Workshop

• The call is aimed at second-year high school students from the cities and communities near Tonantzintla.
• It will take place from July 17 to 21 at the INAOE facilities.
• The deadline to register is June 19.

Santa María Tonantzintla, Puebla, May 11, 2023. The National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) summons second-year high school students from the city of Puebla, San Andrés Cholula, San Pedro Cholula and nearby communities to Tonantzintla to participate in the XXII Youth Science Workshop (TCJ), which will take place from July 17 to 21.
This year, the TCJ will be held at the INAOE headquarters in Tonantzintla, Puebla. In this way, the Workshop returns to its original format, that is, face-to-face, after three consecutive virtual editions in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The objective of the TCJ is to encourage scientific vocations in the STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and to bring science closer to young people through talks, demonstrations and intensive workshops in the research areas that are cultivated at the INAOE.

This year the TCJ program includes a Physics course as well as talks, workshops, demonstrations and experiments on Optics, Electronics and Computer Science. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the Institute's facilities.
The 2023 edition of the TCJ is aimed at students who live in the cities and communities near the INAOE. Space is limited to 30 participants. The registration deadline is next June 19.

The requirements to participate are: to be a student under 18 years of age, to be in the second year of high school and/or high school with a view to graduating in 2024, to be interested in pursuing a scientific career, to live in a city or community close to INAOE in order to return home every day, since there will be no lodging (Puebla, San Andrés Cholula, San Pedro Cholula, Tonantzintla, San Rafael Comac, San Francisco Acatepec, Atlixco, etc.).
