INAOE and San Andrés Cholula analyze issues of dark skies and energy efficiency

Santa María Tonantzintla, July 1, 2022. This morning, members of INAOE and the San Andrés Cholula City Council held a work meeting to discuss the issues of light pollution of dark skies and energy efficiency, and explored the possibilities of institutional collaboration in these areas.

Present at the meeting were Dr. José Ramón Valdés Parra, INAOE Astrophysics Coordinator; Mr. Joaquín Azcona Zenteno, Secretary of Public Services of the City Council; Lic. Beatriz García, Technical Secretary of Public Services; the MC Hugo Maciel, head of Public Lighting; the MC Humberto García Flores, head of the Lighting and Energy Efficiency Laboratory (LIEE), and Mtra. Janina Nava Ariza, from DIDT.

After the work meeting, the participants took a guided tour of the LIEE.
