Master's programs in autumn 2022

The National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) has opened the announcement to enter the master's programs in Astrophysics, Optics, Electronics, Computational Sciences, Space Science and Technology, Biomedical Sciences and Technologies, and Biomedical Sciences and Technologies in the fall of 2022, and Security Technologies, the latter being a program with the industry.

The Master's programs are registered in the National Postgraduate System of the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), which guarantees academic quality and participation in the calls for Conacyt scholarships.

The call for traditional postgraduate courses consists of three phases. The first registration phase ends this April 22. The second is the evaluation, which will take place from May 16 to July 8 and has two options: take an admission exam or take a propaedeutic course through a virtual platform. The third phase will be the communication of results on July 13 and 14.

The call for the Master of Security also consists of three phases. The first registration phase ends May 6. The second is the evaluation, which will take place from April 1 to July 8 and has two options: take an admission exam or pass the preparatory courses through a virtual platform. Students who have passed the admission exam or preparatory courses will be summoned to an interview with the Academic Nucleus. For the interview, they must prepare an essay, one page, explaining the motivation or problem they wish to address in the master's thesis. The third phase will be the communication of results on July 13 and 14.

Dr. Francisco Renero Carrillo, Director of Academic Training of the INAOE, stressed that an essential requirement is the Title of the previous degree, so applicants must send a copy of their document. In case of not having it, the applicant must sign a commitment letter, indicating the probable date of delivery.

Dr. Renero added that the INAOE postgraduate programs will be of great interest to undergraduate graduates, since the Institute has a great academic and scientific tradition in its four traditional or oldest areas: Astrophysics, Optics, Electronics and Computer Sciences.

In addition, the Institute has two unique interdisciplinary postgraduate courses in the country, in which the four aforementioned areas converge: Space Science and Technology, and Biomedical Sciences and Technologies.
